Collection: Michael Buckley

Michael Buckley began working with clay in high school in Davenport, Iowa, leading to a year-long pottery apprenticeship before starting his undergraduate studies at the Kansas City Art Institute. After 15 years in France, he returned to his passion for clay. His work focuses on the history of ceramics, especially early Chinese glazes, and explores reactions between glazes and clay, using wild clays and various kilns to bring out natural colors and textures. His art is known for its pure forms and ongoing surface and textural research.
